We are very proud of the excellent reputation that Lyzzick Hall restaurant has acquired over the years. Everything is prepared by our experienced and talented chefs using the finest ingredients and often herbs from our own garden. We use local suppliers whenever we can, game from Cartmel to a wide selection of Cumbrian cheeses. We are confident that eating in our restaurant will be the highlight of your stay and most of our guests choose to dine with us every evening.
Our food is a combination of traditional and contemporary British food, often with an international twist. As well as dinner, we offer a tempting lunch menu and are happy to let the occasion or your appetite decide, the choice is yours, our menu is priced individually.

The dining room itself is beautifully furnished with gleaming cutlery, crisp white linen napkins and candles.

Customer Testimonials
EXCELLENT Based on 830 reviews ella02016/03/2022Verified Outstanding experience Our recent stay at Lyzzick Hall was outstanding. This is beautiful country house hotel with some of the most amazing views. The hotel during lockdown has undergone a spectacular transformation. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, with all amenities and a high level of cleanliness. The new terrazza in the grounds of the hotel, will be a lovely area to spend time to have a drink, or relax in the beautiful surroundings. The food is first class, with wines to match all served with passion, by a team of highly professional waiting staff. Breakfasts are excellent and a good start to the day. Overall Lyzzick Hall is a jewel in the crown of hotels in the Lake District. We cannot wait and will return. elizabeth s10/02/2022Verified Beautiful & delicious We stayed for one night in this idyllic setting. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Throughout the stay they gave an unobtrusive attentiveness which was much appreciated. The accommodation was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The dinner and breakfast were amazing and experiences in themselves. I required a salt free meal which was provided creatively and without fuss and even a loaf of bread was baked for me without salt. The food was so delicious. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable. Lynn O08/01/2022Verified Festive Lunch We usually stay at the Lyzzick but were staying in Ambleside with friends. After very mediocre offerings at our own hotel, we all decided lunch at the Lyzzick would be a real treat. As a regular guest at the Lyzzick over the years, we have learned that this is the place to go for the best food and service in the lakes. The meal was absolutely superb and we were all buzzing when we left. The quality is always fabulous but it also the staff that make it a great place to stay and/or dine. We have already booked a short break for June and are hoping that wont be our only visit this year. Outstanding! prd1023/12/2021Verified Lovely atmosphere We had the usual warm welcome and professional service always received at this hotel. The Christmas decorations and enchanting Christmas tree add to the overall ambience. Our meal was lovely and it was a pleasure to dine overlooking the garden with the breathtaking views of Newlands and Borrowdale. Looking forward to a return visit soon! lisaandsimon03/12/2021Verified Stunning views, exceptional food. Visited for Afternoon Tea with my Mum and Great Aunt. Stunning setting, the hotel is beautiful and tastefully decorated and the views are spectacular. On arrival the staff showed us to our table and took our drinks order and then shortly after the afternoon tea was served. Everything single item was amazing, the sandwiches were perfectly filled with lovely fresh bread and the cakes were to die for. Throughout we were checked on and the staff were attentive and friendly. We really had a wonderful afternoon. Robert M B01/12/2021Verified If you want the very best of everything........................... Lyzzick Hall wisely took advantage of the covid crisis to transform their dining areas from excellent to spectacular, the decor is truly fabulous. The views could not be improved upon and are arguably the best in the lake district. Staff members are certainly the best we have ever encountered and the food dispels the myth that perfection cannot be improved upon. 01/12/21, lunch accompanied by two very well travelled friends and we all agreed the lunch was the best ever. The Gold Standard in this area. Kate W13/11/2021Verified 50th Birthday celebration We had the most amazing evening, our second visit to Lyzzick Hall. We were looked after impeccably from start to finish. The staff arranged mocktails for us even though not on the menu. The food was stunning and the staff, so professional, warm and welcoming. Thank you Ruth P12/11/2021Verified A lovely night away This is a lovely hotel not far from Keswick with amazing views. There has been a change in the way some of the rooms downstairs are now being used. What was once the dining room is now a lounge and the previous 2 lounges have been knocked into one and these along with the conservatory are now the new dining rooms and it works very well. There was a good choice on the evening dinner menu. This was one of the best meals we have had since lockdown ended. Our bedroom was comfortable and had lovely views. We will certainly be returning. Shirley R09/11/2021Verified Beautiful hotel Just returned from a 2 night stay. Beautiful hotel just as we remembered it, few small changes but can definitely reccomend Food was superb , staff excellent , polite helpful professional. Special mention to Amelia who served us most of the time , but all staff excellent . Thanks to everyone.
